I cannot get over this picture of Laura from the conference. *love*
She is a very beautiful person.

Life has been agreeable lately...particularly the fall-like weather.
Haven't taken any pictures in awhile, so here's one from the Fourth of July.

Today turned out quite nicely despite headaches, & Walmart, & allergies, & cheaply made expensive generic clothing.

Ann turned 21 today, so of course there was a party last night. A little wine, a little ice cream...& too much Jane Austen. Oh, the drama! I shall swoon.
We laughed until we cried, broke things, kissed the baby, & devoured steak.

[sage]

i sorta miss the loud & distracting family/californian fourth of julys.

holidays in general are terrible, & this one is the worst. nothing's open.
what's wrong with them? don't people know that it's FUN to work on holidays? whipped cream is essential to my happiness & well-being.

anyways...every fourth of july since we've moved has not been...normal.

starting from 2000 on, some large community party always emptied the soda cans & lit the fuses. last year we celebrated with the stomach flu.
this year, we declared independence from all that crap in the basement.

well. if the green dumpsters weren't full - they are now.

these are a few images from new york. the middle one is the marie antoinette room at the met museum of art.

Kairos

Our weather is wonderfully cool & breezy - can it stay like this, with 5 days of rain every couple weeks? That would be great.

Snatched a showing of "Up" last night with the sibs...it's been awhile since I enjoyed an animated film so much. What colors. And the characters could have been real people. I think they are.

Haying season is here. The sweet grass smells are the best part.
