[catatonic]

january is not so bad as it seems, i guess.

got to have one last cup of chai with gary before he's away to school (already!). sad to see him go, but it's a great opportunity, not so very far away & sounds like an awesome school. it even has a flyfishing class. wow.
& lauryl...she's away shortly back to idaho; trying to fit in all we can possibly do before the 14th.
it's extremely satisfying to see my dear people grow & learn & have oportunities to pursue desires & excellence.
it's also nice when they want to come back & share the above with the rest of us. :)

blast. i'm too old to have a short attention span. it's getting worse.
and reading - no discipline for reading lately. whatever music i'm listening to takes immediate precedence.
which lately has been a mix of mainstream hiphop (kanye, timbaland, rihanna) indie alternative (honey trees, civil wars, seabird), & indie punk/alternative/rock (arctic monkeys).

these pictures make me really happy (i'm also happy because i managed to clear up some harddrive space - yeehaw).

as a result of sin, no longer do we attach our inner peace to God who is the definition of wisdom, power, & love & who will never change. no, without realizing what we have done we begin to look for identity, meaning, & purpose & our inner sense of well-being horizontally...things that were not designed to give us peace & over which we have no control become our replacement messiahs. we ask them to do for us what only God is able to do.
